Paving Crew Attacked by Rival Company: Sheriff

Members of a crew from EH Paving were allegedly attacked with bats.

Members of a paving crew from EH Paving were assaulted by six members of the family owning a rival paving company, according to the Monroe County (Georgia) Sheriff’s Office.

Officials told WMAZ that it was “like something out of ‘The Sopranos.’”

Six members of the Buckland family, which news reports say own several paving companies in the state, allegedly attacked the crew with baseball bats, sticks, and a gun.

Arrested on various charges were Mark Buckland, Sr.; Willy Buckland, Sr.; Luke Buckland; Mark Buckland, Jr.; Willy Buckland, Jr.; and James Small. Mark William was also charged with “pointing or aiming gun or pistol at another.” News reports say he fired the gun “into the woods” as a warning.

The attack was apparently triggered because EH Paving was working near a house owned by a member of the Buckland family, which the family thought was “disrespectful,” according WMAZ.
